Dynamic Women’s Organization Seeking Envoys for National Expansion.

√ Ideal candidates are motivators who think outside the box and have a desire to educate and equip others in order to aid personal growth and professional success.

√ The ideal candidate is energetic, well connected and has a proven track record of strong leadership and team building skills, as well as demonstrated skill in managing, motivating and inspiring people.

√ Well connected influential women with interests in coaching, training and mentoring who possess the ability to be a catalyst for others, and those with upper-level, direct sales leadership experience are encouraged to inquire.

√ This role is perfect for computer/internet savvy women who enjoy facilitating growth and seek a role that will positively influence others while enhancing their professional careers.

√ Envoys begin as independent contractors and escalate to team licensure. The role of Envoy has significant income potential for the ideal candidates. Please share this opportunity with all qualified women.

√ Interested women should forward a letter of interest by August 15, outlining their experience and relevant information to Linda@awomensplace.org and anita@affiliatedwomen.com.

Women are coming into our own! Finally, we are receiving the recognition we so richly deserve. If you don’t believe me, just look around at the world – social media, networking organizations, marketers, retail/wholesale and everything in between!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be viewed or treated as a “commodity”. All too often in the world of networking (the traditional transactional kind), I feel like a captive audience to someone who wants to share time with me for only one purpose – to sell me something. Rather than attempt to “sell me” on them as a person; he/she wants me to make an instant decision to snap up whatever it is he/she is peddling at the moment.

I despise such actions on the part of others! I might want what you have to offer, but I don’t know YOU and whether you are a person of integrity; who is honest in his/her life pursuits.

I don’t yet know if I can trust you in small things – let alone in the big things. So what I want you to do is “educate me” about you as a person; then about your product & services. . . . and leave it to me to make a decision over time.

Affiliated Women Intl™ (AWI) developed a unique niche in the networking world. Actually it isn’t new & it isn’t networking per se. But it is effective, because building strong bonded relationships with other women is not new. However, it is if the purpose for doing so goes beyond the personal satisfaction of enlarging my circle of significant friendships. It becomes both personally satisfying AND professionally sound when significant friendships lead others to search out qualified warm referrals in order to exercise the “Go-Giver” concept (see Bob Burg and John David Mann’s “Go-Giver”) – on my behalf. And vice-versa!

The model and format works. Been tested and found to work for women who engage it and quickly experience the “ah ha” moment. It is especially helpful to those women who are experiencing transitions in their lives (isn’t that all of us at some point?). Now that we know it works, it’s time to give women in other parts of the country an opportunity to experience and be a part thereof. In fact, I should say – “in other parts of the world!”

And AWI is both face 2 face and online. In fact we began first as an online community of empowered women. Empowered women who care about each other – empowered women from all over the world. Called THE CONNECTION STATION, women come, connect and support each other in a multitude of ways. You’ll find us at http://affiliatedwomen.com.

Thus the reason for posting the “advertisement” that begins this post. It isn’t the average woman who will qualify – but I don’t know an “average woman”. It isn’t for those who want to stay in their comfort zone. It is for women who are entrepreneurial and want to extend their influence to benefit other women; as well as their own business or career. It’s an opportunity to serve self through serving others – other women who look to us for guidance, training, coaching and mentoring in order to achieve the success they desire.

Are you such a woman? I suspect if you’re reading this – you are. Please ponder, ask questions, seek clarity. Even before doing so – let us know you are interested. Once you have the “whole picture” AND get a sense of who we are – that’s the time for decisions.

Thanks much for being a seeker; a go-giver; a woman of influence and excellence. We look forward to working with you to make the world a better place for all women seeking to fulfill their passion and purpose.

Have an awesome day. . .

The Decade of the Woman is about honoring women who make a difference. A significant difference in the lives of others. Women who dream “outlandish” dreams and bring them to pass. Over this past weekend, I discovered one of those “outlandish” women I’d never heard of before. Her name is Lynn Tilton & I discovered her because I happened to turn on Huckabee just as he was interviewing her. What I heard, saw and since read is absolutely amazing. Lynn Tilton is definitely a woman after my own heart & perhaps worthy of a “Woman of Excellence” award when it comes time to hand them out. Please read on to learn more about this fabulous woman. . . . .

“It takes a “Team of people with passion & perseverance & vision & willing to stand shoulder to shoulder to create that force of nature that rises from the abyss.

We don’t work together as a people anymore. We’re always worried when we wake up, about ourselves. When people stand together, I say good people together make great things happen. It’s about taking a team of people who will believe in the journey.”

Lynn Tilton, CEO & Principle Partner, Patriarch Partners LLC – Fox News Huckabee, Sunday, July 18, 2010.

I’d never heard of Lynn Tilton before I turned on Fox News last evening at an hour I’m usually doing anything but watching TV on Sunday. I caught the last portion of an interview with a woman Huckabee described
as a “self-made billionaire”.

She is a somewhat wild looking blond with extremely long hair & somewhat outlandish dress; but when she opens her mouth – gems of wisdom roll out. A soft-spoken woman of about 50, Lynn Tilton is my kind of woman! As I’ve pursued more information about her today, I realize she’s a woman after my heart. A solid business woman with a heart for the nation, American companies and the American worker. A woman who understands that “making money and making the world a better place are not mutually exclusive concepts”

I was so impacted by this woman who rose from rather humble beginnings; was once a single mom working nearly 100 hours a week in the financial markets, who took her talent, expertise and American work ethic and put it to use on behalf of others. And in the process, made what we call in fund raising development – “boo coo bucks!”

Some might call her outlandish because of her appearance; but I call her that because of her outlandish dream to restore a solid economic base to our nation and workers – and made it work. How many of us have outlandish dreams that we simply allow to languish on the vine because we assume they’ll never come to fruition?

I want you to get to know Lynn Tilton! She has a view of womanhood that does us proud. She knows that “women shoulder to shoulder, can be the driving force that leads to the economic healing and requisite transformation of our great nation.” That America;s greatest asset is “human capital”.

I think you’ll be inspired by her. By her simple wisdom that obviously eludes the politico’s in D. C. who think they know what’s best for all of us and a very ailing economy. A wisdom that only savvy women know – and each of us gathered here is savvy enough to know it as well.

So my question today is, “Are we ready to stand shoulder to shoulder to help each other bring outlandish dreams to reality? Perhaps not as outlandish or grandiose as Lynn Tilton’s, but nonetheless important to women everywhere and perhaps to our nation as a whole. We each have our part to play. Will be be satisfied to get up each morning concerned only for ourselves & what we can get out of the day?

And are we willing to stick together and grow as a “team”? A team of women who have, can and will capture the vision – who will believe in the journey. We can’t possibly manage it alone, but “shoulder to shoulder” we can make an impact that the world won’t long be able to ignore.

It took Lynn Tilton just 10 years to grab the attention of folks looking for successful women who rose from the “dust to diamonds” (name of her blog). How long will it take us?

She’s right. Apart, we can accomplish little; but together with arms, shoulders & hearts interlocked; we can make the world a better place!

What say you? Agree. Disagree. Fearful to begin or ready to roll?

Linda, a fellow traveler on the journey

MORE ON LYNN TILTON:

Lynn Tilton quotes:

“Making money and making the world a better place are not mutually exclusive concepts.”

“Our country’s most valuable asset is human capital, and the most potent force of nature is people standing shoulder-to-shoulder, moving in one direction.”

“Healing the economy, assuaging anger and rebuilding America will begin with both truth and self-reflection.”

“We must all strive to be better people and to demonstrate those qualities that create light in a world gone dark.”

“We have become a culture of expectation rather than appreciation.”

“America’s greatest asset is human capital. Women, shoulder to shoulder, can be the driving force that leads to the economic healing and requisite transformation of our great nation.”

“Americans hunger for authentic leaders who will provide them with truth and a path paved with direction and promise. Truth is cold and hard but it is also the first step towards hope and salvation.”

The WORD is out! Another great TWEET UP WITH A TWIST is coming to NYC. Again at that great social media boutique hotel – the Roger Smith.

What’s exciting is the exciting things we have planned; assuming they all come together as we hope. Now I know you may be asking “What’s a Tweet Up with a Twist?” It’s a group of women tweeters getting together – face 2 face – perhaps for the first time ever.

But the “twist” is we give each one the opportunity to support an NYC based charity. Not a huge amount, mind you, but something that makes a statement that women are always eager to “give back”.

This time, we’re going to support GIRL UP, a new UN initiative to educate young women around the world in entrepreneurial skills so they can lift themselves to new heights they deserve.

WATCH for more to come on this great event. We’ll tell you how to RSVP and get all the great details that are just now “in the works”.

Have a great day. . . .

Roger Smith Hotel – 501 #1 Lexington Avenue – NYC.

Many of us are social media ‘buffs’. We may not understand it, but we know the value it adds to our lives, as well as our business endeavors.

Nothing will ever replace meeting others face to face. But there’s a special magic when folks who know one another virtually only via Twitter, Linked In or Facebook, come together eyeball to eyeball. It’s as if we’ve known each other for a lifetime!

The mystery city came about vicariously. To be honest, we simply couldn’t come up with the sixth city for 2010-2011. When I asked our webmaster if to do something like the “mystery city” (was it ‘hokey’), he thought it a grand idea.

So that’s what we’ve done. Or at least we’re in the process of getting it done. Here’s how I think it will work:

1). A page here on DECADE for women to nominate their city as the last one each year, where we’ll hostess an event and recognize & honor women on from location.
2). To nominate, all you’ll have to do is tell us why your city should be chosen (demographics, influential women, women who are “go-givers” at heart, number of women’s networking organizations in the area, etc.)
3). Make a GREAT CASE for your city – paint a vivid picture with true colors & honest opinions.

We’re excited about this aspect of the DECADE initiative. It adds some ‘pizazz‘ to the project & creates entertaining fun. And no celebration should be without entertainment and fun.

So WATCH for us to add the “MYSTERY CITY” info and form to the site. You just don’t want to miss a week of keeping up with our strategic progress!

Those are words mouthed by Katina Kaisher, our DECADE corporate event planner. The occasion? Upon reporting we have a date for the inaugural Decade of the Woman event in New York City. October 21 at the New York Academy of Medicine Conference Center. They have us “penciled in” and now the fun begins!

Decade is a HUGE undertaking, as Victoria Finch tweeted to me last week. But one well worth doing. Women of valor, influence, excellence & courage deserve to be recognized & honored for what they have done – and are doing – to make the world a better place.

I so often think of the large billboard in the international terminal at the Newark airport: “Women ~ the world’s largest untapped natural resource!” We may have been “untapped” in the past. But we are definitely “out of the box” now!

The NYC team has created a “short list” of potential honorees in the “Big Apple” and soon they will be notified. Then we’ll begin a campaign to encourage citizens of the city to nominate women who consistently make a difference, but are rarely recognized. They are our “unsung heroines”.

We’re excited to be this far along in the planning for DECADE; but we can use all the help women around the country are willing to give. So if you’d like to be part of a HUGE undertaking to recognize & honor women across the country who make us proud to be a woman – get on board by emailing to linda@awomensplace.org.

We’d love to hear from you!

TOMORROW: The “awesome” lead- in events that every women tweeter will want to be part of!

What sweet words. . . “we’re on our way! Have an awesome day,

Rumor has it that the energy of the planet is now feminine. I shout ‘hooray’ at such news!

It’s time women, who embody the feminine, come into our own. Time our wisdom, strength, courage, care & nourishment spread across the world. Time we’re generally recognized for who we are & what we bring – of a positive nature – to the lives of others.

JANUARY 1, 2010 begins a new decade!

This truly is the best time for women everywhere to be honored & recognized – not only for who we are as women – but for what we’ve done to positively enrich the lives of others. What we’ve done to encourage others to find their purpose in life & live it to the full.

WHO Will Spearhead Such An Effort?

Affiliated Women Intl™ is a growing organization that launched face 2 face women’s groups in Indianapolis, Indiana a little over a year ago. First we took to cyberspace to help women world wide connect with each other virtually. Then we determined that online connecting would never replace “face to face”. So we developed a model & format to bring women – all women from all walks of life – together to enrich, encourage, equip & empower each other. We recently stepped outside our comfort zone to go nationwide & launched “Neighborhood Networks” in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Oklahoma City to follow shortly.

HOW IN world . . .?

Just weeks ago, the CEO and chief visionary officer for AWI, penned a blog post at our online community – THE CONNECTION STATION – declaring “2010 as The Year of the Woman”! In fact, she says, we just may make it the “Decade of the Woman”!

With those words ringing in our ears, we’ve set out to make it happen! To make 2010 a year in which women are recognized & honored for their many accomplishments. Accomplishments that often go unnoticed.

A CELEBRATION of Women –

To celebrate women – who we are & all that we do – Affiliated Women (AWI) is initiating a series of major special events around the country.

The energetic, vibrant “Toasts” to Women will feature special recognition of women who represent great courage in the face of insurmountable odds (“The Spirit of Woman” award) & women who exemplify the excellence to be found in every woman (“The Woman of Excellence” award).

AWI kicked off these dynamic events by organizing a steering committee which is helping to launch the Decade of the Woman in late October. New York City is the scene of our inaugural event which launches year 1 of the Decade initiative. 2010-2011 culminates with an event in Omaha, Nebraska, June, 2011.

WHERE WE’LL CELEBRATE –

CONFIRMED 2010 ~ 2011 locations are: TULSA & OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma; NEW YORK CITY, New York; CHARLOTTE, North Carolina & Omaha, Nebraska.

Additional sites will be added each year until Affiliated Women and The Decade of the Woman have covered a large area of the United States, Canada. . . and who knows – perhaps we’ll go across the pond as well!

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE –

The AWI Leadership Team is currently interviewing women for a National Steering Committee who will develop & oversee these awesome, exciting events across the nation.

If you are a woman who loves to roll up her sleeves, get actively involved, work with other dynamic, energetic & creative women; let us know. We want a “Letter of Interest” with a very short bio or vita’ for consideration. Please send to linda@awomensplace.org for immediate review and a prompt response to your request.
