Women are coming into our own! Finally, we are receiving the recognition we so richly deserve. If you don’t believe me, just look around at the world – social media, networking organizations, marketers, retail/wholesale and everything in between!
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be viewed or treated as a “commodity”. All too often in the world of networking (the traditional transactional kind), I feel like a captive audience to someone who wants to share time with me for only one purpose – to sell me something. Rather than attempt to “sell me” on them as a person; he/she wants me to make an instant decision to snap up whatever it is he/she is peddling at the moment.
I despise such actions on the part of others! I might want what you have to offer, but I don’t know YOU and whether you are a person of integrity; who is honest in his/her life pursuits.
I don’t yet know if I can trust you in small things – let alone in the big things. So what I want you to do is “educate me” about you as a person; then about your product & services. . . . and leave it to me to make a decision over time.
Affiliated Women Intl™ (AWI) developed a unique niche in the networking world. Actually it isn’t new & it isn’t networking per se. But it is effective, because building strong bonded relationships with other women is not new. However, it is if the purpose for doing so goes beyond the personal satisfaction of enlarging my circle of significant friendships. It becomes both personally satisfying AND professionally sound when significant friendships lead others to search out qualified warm referrals in order to exercise the “Go-Giver” concept (see Bob Burg and John David Mann’s “Go-Giver”) – on my behalf. And vice-versa!
The model and format works. Been tested and found to work for women who engage it and quickly experience the “ah ha” moment. It is especially helpful to those women who are experiencing transitions in their lives (isn’t that all of us at some point?). Now that we know it works, it’s time to give women in other parts of the country an opportunity to experience and be a part thereof. In fact, I should say – “in other parts of the world!”
And AWI is both face 2 face and online. In fact we began first as an online community of empowered women. Empowered women who care about each other – empowered women from all over the world. Thus the reason for posting the “advertisement” that begins this post. It isn’t the average woman who will qualify – but I don’t know an “average woman”. It isn’t for those who want to stay in their comfort zone. It is for women who are entrepreneurial and want to extend their influence to benefit other women; as well as their own business or career. It’s an opportunity to serve self through serving others – other women who look to us for guidance, training, coaching and mentoring in order to achieve the success they desire.
Are you such a woman? I suspect if you’re reading this – you are. Please ponder, ask questions, seek clarity. Even before doing so – let us know you are interested. Once you have the “whole picture” AND get a sense of who we are – that’s the time for decisions.
